Hot-end coating
This coating is applied as standard during the production of glass containers, shortly after they come out of the mold while still hot, and helps reduce strength loss that may occur during manufacturing. At around 700°C, before the annealing oven, tin or titanium oxide is vapor-deposited onto the glass. The tin or titanium oxide forms a strong, inseparable bond with the glass. Adhesion occurs in areas of high surface tension, typically where micro-damage has occurred.
