Laminate
Laminates are materials composed of multiple layers, used in flexible packaging. The laminates consist of different layers of various flexible materials. These can be laminates of different base materials, such as PE and PET, but also paper or aluminum, or materials made from the same base materials, such as CPP and OPP. The layers are produced separately and then combined either immediately or at a later stage, for example through lamination or co-extrusion.
In addition to these two techniques, an increasing number of methods are being developed to add very thin layers of alternative materials, such as vapor deposition, printing, and coating.
