Beverage carton
The Packaging Management Decree provides the following definition for beverage cartons: Packaging suitable for liquid food products, consisting of at least 70 percent paper and cardboard, with the remainder made of one or more other materials.
The Packaging Waste Fund applies this definition with the following clarification: The decisive factor is whether the contents are intended for human consumption. Therefore, it does not necessarily have to be beverages, contrary to what the definition may suggest. It can also include liquid products intended for cooking, such as soups, sauces, and similar products.
